Some highlights:
Thys & Mia accompanied them into the Hagia Sophia & Blue Mosque, on a day when school was canceled due to Istanbul snow (doesn't take much to cancel school here).
I joined the crew for the Spice Market/Grand Bazaare adventure. Added bonus: Oliver wasn't too grown up to hold hands with me as we journeyed through the maze of Eminonu.
We watched Brahm work his lego-magic the whole time he was here. Wow! That's all we can really say...he's amazing!
Jake says he liked learning "Perpetual Commotion" from Aunt Jenny.
We all survived hiking the (unprotected) walls of the Rumeli Fortress...we always feel grateful to leave there in one peice!
Thys says that the highlight for him was having Aunt Jenny bequeath upon him one of her dreadlocks, which he is planning on attatching to a keychain and hanging from his backpack, like a lucky rabbits foot...or weaving into his chin hairs (14 year old goatie).
Jen, Brooks & boys stayed for 6 days and then flew to Ephesus/Cappadocia to top off their trip, which they claim was a success & had some great adventure stories to tell us when they returned to Istanbul.
Too bad they couldn't stay just a couple of days longer...
