Soccer...Football..Whatever!

People look at us funny when we say "soccer" here.  Yes, soccer is known as football across the globe, except for in the states.  But when I start calling "soccer" "football", my kids get after me and say we have to stick to our American roots.  So be it!  Here are some photos of Thys playing IICS soccer this fall, and a few others of  his siblings at his matches.  He traveled to Bucharest with his soccer team in November, but injured his leg...they didn't do as well as they would have liked, but still had a good time!
Istanbul fall afternoons
are perfect for a soccer match!
Mia, Grace & Josie watch
 the game
While Fiona & I analyze plays, game tactics, etc (hehe!)
While the game is going on
our family members get distracted.
Gummy worm girls
Josie & Matthew find the Ipad diverting.
A month later the British School, Gateway and MEF schools
came to the IICS campus for another tournament.
Thys' JV team played their Varsity teams and did fairly well.
Fancy Footwork
Mia and friends "watching" the match!
