It's hard to soar with eagles when you're hangin' with the turkeys!

Thanksgiving, finally...

We finally celebrated Thanksgiving this year...the first time in 3 years here, which I'm not proud to admit. Ryan was away traveling for the last two Thanksgivings. I didn't feel very motivated to make a big Thanksgiving dinner with him gone, but I should have! This year we had our good friends, the Smiths and the Hilditch's, join us for our Thanksgiving feast:
Edith, our friend and helper, made our beautiful Thanksgiving Turkey
Jake, Cameron & Sean helped eat it (although Sean did say, "Ahhh, poor bird...")
Ry carved the roast beast (turkey)
Teddy, the lime-eater, entertained us all
Fiona & Laura were great company
Thys & James did their part, helping to pack all that good food away...
We taught our friends a family favorite:  The Flour Game
Where you place a coin on top of a mound of flour, and slice sections of flour away
When the coin finally falls into the flour, you have to fetch it out with your face/mouth (no hands)
Laura was a good sport and took a stab at it
We also had fun singing the first Christmas carols of the season
Fiona and Grace read the little Catwoman some Christmas stories on the couch
Everyones ticket to dinner was adding a leaf to the Thanksgiving Tree (see behind).  Yes...each person had to write at least one or two things they were grateful for.  The tree will stay up throughout the year, in the playroom...
We are grateful for a great many things in 2012, especially for family and good friends.  Happy Thanksgiving!
