yay! ryan is home! grandpa gary came last night and stayed with the kids while ryan and i went away for the night. we hid out at the willows lodge in woodinville for his birthday and to celebrate his coming home. thys asked, "what did you do at the hotel, dad?" ryan: "um, played checkers..."
thys has spent january learning moonlight sonata. sounding pretty fresh! and he's playing some pretty rockin' basketball this year (home court), although he came home with a warning from school this week...too aggressive on the elementary level.
mia has been working on a "how-to" speech for her 4th grade class; she has chosen "how to finger knit" and gets to do a demonstration as part of her speech. mia's b-ball team also won their first game of the season today. go tigers!
jake got his token head-injury for the year, and while ryan was gone of course (jake won't have it any other way!). i was afraid for his life...he's still got a golf-ball size bonk on his forehead...a pretty good shiner. jake also saved his pennies and bought a shiney blue soccer ball today. nice!
joza-b has mastered the art of using the potty. it's been fun, josie, but let's just say i'm glad the last few weeks are over and done with. i suppose this is a real milestone for our family...no more diapers! can it be?
we're loving having ryan home after 3 weeks of life without him. welcome home, dad!
ry and the kids; they are holding their "prizes" he brought home for them.
