When we are at the Big House our days are largely unscheduled. I love that about the summer time, and I love that about the sleepy town of Mt. Pleasant. It is so nice to go there and take a deep breath from running around. When we go during the summer, the kids can play for hours outside. They love to ride Bucks electric cars around and around the house. They love to use the garage attic as a fort and multi-purpose playroom. The cousins can spend hours under the big cottonwood tree, playing in the sandbox or swinging each other on the swing. A couple of years ago Ryan built a tree fort out front with all of the little cousins that they are still working on (I love to watch them hammering away, or pulling "supplies" up and down the pully). Watching their summer-time play takes me back to my childhood in Fremont where I guess we did more of the same, whiling away the summer days with popsicle in hand and a sibling/cousin/dog close at hand for playing with.
A couple of summers ago Dad built a Pickle-Ball/Sports court for the cousins to enjoy during the summers. The older cousins love to play basketball and Pickle out there, while the little ones enjoy driving the electric cars on the court. Cody, Jess & MaShay have come down to hang out at the Big House several times and the Winkels/Reynolds always seem to hang out easily!
