It's hard to soar with eagles when you're hangin' with the turkeys!

Critters in the 'hood

Much to the kids delight, we have met new and interesting critters here that we may not have met back in Seattle. Ryan found this cute little hedgie on the side of the road several months ago. He brought it home for us to take a peek, and then set it loose in the yard. In April, on the day Jake was suppose to perform in the primary grades "Bugz" performance, we found an enormous purple beetle! Jake was feeling sad that day because he missed the play (he was home with strep throat), but I think this little buggy find made him feel a bit better (as it happens, he was suppose to be a shiny green beetle in the play!). While in Ephesus last month, Jake & Josie discovered this big tortuga, and on the same trip, we spotted some wild boar in a National Park we were exploring. This month we discovered the return of our froggy friend, Jeffrey, who lives in our swimming pool but occasionally comes inside to play. All of these, in addition to our dog Chancho and our cat, Ginger Pie, have made for some fun "playdates" with the critters in our 'hood.
