Behold, the 2012 Great Egg Search, featuring the Istanbul Branch Primary Children/the Istanbul YM & YW and their families! We started off the afternoon making a fun project with Sister Bond ("Resurrection Rolls"). Meanwhile, Dads crept outside & hid eggs (which took a good bit of time). Eggs were searched for in two waves: first, the Primary kids hunted for eggs hidden in the lower garden. Then, the YM/YW hunted in the upper garden, where eggs were hidden in trees, on rooftops, underground, etc. The Moms even held a third wave for the Dad's! The sun came out for us, we ate lots of good food & candy (American candy even, courtesy of the Donadieu's), and life was good. Even the teenagers said they had a fun. We are REALLY going to miss these families...we are all leaving this summer, except for the Cakir's, and life won't be the same without them.
