It's hard to soar with eagles when you're hangin' with the turkeys!

Athens

Words from the wise: don't ever drive to Athens from Istanbul...because you might get stopped at the border crossing...because your car insurance might have expired...and then you might have to drive to a neighboring town to try desparately to renew your car insurance...and then your spouse and children will have to wait nervously back at the border...and then a 12 hour drive might turn into an 18 hour drive...and THEN one or both spouses might lose their minds, which might jeopardize a once happy marriage. So definitely FLY to Athens if at all possible...so that your marriage will stay intact and so that you and your family can have some FUN!
More words of wisdom:  Make friends with the patrons of Hadrians Library: the street dogs,
and the tortoises!
Then make your way to the Agora
and visit the Agora museum.  It's small and interesting for children.
Try to get along with your siblings
along the way!
Hike up to the Parthenon and see how many times you can slide on your bum (unintentionally) because of the slippery marbled path.
Make friends with your spouse again on the way back down.
After a visit to the Archeological Museum, try to catch the Changing of the Guard.
Feed the birds while you're waiting.
Then snap a pic with the guard on duty...but don't make fun of the pom-poms on his shoe (he's heavily armed, after all)!
Make sure never to touch ancient marble pillars
in Zeus' temple.
Finally, make your way to the Olympic Stadium.
Adrenalin can't help but start pulsing through your veins
as you contemplate the history of the Olympics, and that it began here!
"Give me a little taste of the glory!"
Don't let another make you feel inferior, though.
Make sure you save Thys a "peice of that corn for later!"
Have a family foot race!
But don't be a poor loser...we're all winners, Ry!
Finally, make sure you eat lots of delicious gyros and frozen Greek yogurt.  Then return again in the summer-time when you can make your way out to the Greek islands, like we hope to do someday!
