We celebrated Easter three weeks late this year as Ryan was away Easter weekend. I didn't mind that so much anyways as I don't like doing baskets/egg finding on Easter Sunday. So, weeks later and while in Antalya, we filled a bunch of eggs, tucked some prizes in their Easter baskets, and hid them in the gardens where we were staying. Following tradition, we give each child their own egg color and level of finding difficulty is based on age; Josie's are easy to find, Thys' almost impossible. As you can imagine, Ryan really LOVES this tradition. "I get to hide Thys'!" he reminds me every year. Thys loves the tradition ALMOST as much as Ry. Breaking tradition this year, however, we allowed Thys to help us hide eggs. He was pretty pumped to hide Mia's eggs (insert maniacal laugh). Usually we hide baskets as well and the kids follow a maze of yarn together to reach their baskets. We skipped the yarn this year for simplicity sake and the kids found their baskets waiting for them at the end of the egg hunt.
Can you see the green egg inside the lantern? Neither could Thys...
Thys was pretty pleased with himself, to have hidden some of Mia's orange eggs in the orange trees. She was not so amused (one fell out and onto the ground but she still wasn't seeing it!)
Jakes eggs camouflaged amongst yellow flowers and pear trees,
Josie's hidden in flowers, mail boxes, etc.
Ry is pretty hardcore; he hid Thys' eggs in treetops and on housetops, etc. As if finding green eggs in bushes and among leaves isn't hard enough, the poor kid is colorblind!
FOUND: Jake, Mia and Josie's eggs (now waiting on Thys)
Enjoying their baskets waiting for them at the end. Happy Hunting!
